The Book

Chie Carroll in NYCI started writing a book, “The Book,” that I’ve talked about with my friends for almost a decade, but it never materialized. Diving deeper this year was definitely a very sweet journey, not just for me but for the rest of our family. It’s not, just like every year is, but that’s why it’s sweet, because as it gets harder, our faith gets tougher. Someone told my husband once, “You are testing the Lord every time you make decisions that are impossible.” However, what we’ve learned is that ever since we followed Jesus, every decision is put on fire and refined to be tested, not by us, but by Him, who has the “final say”.

So glad that we serve a God who speaks, as Trey, our ADS director, would say every time we come into the classroom. We are indeed so glad! It helps us filter out the things and words that are not from Him.

Going back to “The Book” that I’m writing. I wanted it to be a story and a devotional for the reader at the same time. A story that will guide the reader into a journey of diving deeper into their walk with God and hearing from Him. It will have stories of unconventional faith, dreams, and visions God gave, an interpretation that took a year to be completed, and over a decade of understanding His plans and purpose. It’s not a novel type of story, but it will inspire you to be faithful with the little or big you have. A pastor in Scotland told me that God started rewriting my story when I arrived in New York in 2005. In 2007, a lady in my life group in Ohio (who is now a known author and women’s advocate) told me that I should publish our story (Tim & me) in a book. At first, I never thought there was anything to write about our story. We just got married and had our first daughter. Little did I know that what she said was a prophetic word that will become the seed planted in my heart, which has now spanned over a decade.

Writing is a journey. How long is not the question. What I learn from it is also not the question. But what He will reveal to me in the process of writing is what I’ll be looking forward to.

He is, after all, a generous, faithful God. My Abba Father, who never fails. So I will not fail and trust Him in the process.

The end… and the beginning.

For now…until our next blog post.
