SPRING '25 UPDATE

Spring – the season of renewal, growth, and fresh beginnings! The chill of winter has faded, and signs of life have bloomed all around us. As we continue to walk into this season, we want to take a moment to reflect on God’s faithfulness in our journey and share what’s ahead for our family.

A Summer of Missions in Scotland

This July, our family will be in Banff, Scotland, for a month to serve with Revive Ministries UK and River Churches. It’s a blessing to be part of this ongoing work, and I (Chie) have had the privilege of serving with Revive year-round. Additionally, we are helping administer a team that will join us from Waco for a 10-day mission trip to Scotland from July 10-21. We are praying that this trip will be filled with encounters, salvations, and a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

A Year of Yielding and Trust

This past year has been a testament to what it means to yield to God’s plans fully. We’ve experienced growth, challenges, and moments of deep surrender, both here in the U.S. and abroad. It has been incredible to witness how God is moving in Europe, especially in Scotland and England, where revival is stirring in the hearts of many.

Celebrating Gwen’s Milestones

This season, we are also preparing for a big family milestone—Gwen’s High School Graduation! 🎉 She has worked hard, and we are so proud of her. She has been accepted into Regent University and is looking to start some college classes in Fall 2025 and register for DTS (Disciple Training School) in Antioch.

In addition to her academic achievements, Gwen is also growing in her artistic journey. She has become a Main Gallery Artist at the Washington Art Gallery in Waco! Her artworks will soon be available in the gallery, marking a huge step in her creative career. We are excited to see how God continues to use her talents in this next chapter.

Looking Back on the Past Year, Time Flies So Fast

January – March

  • Caleb and Gwen attended a winter retreat together—a special time of connection and spiritual growth.
  • Our family traveled to Clifton, TX, for a mission trip with Nations Houston and our Antioch church.

April – June

  • We welcomed friends and family who came to visit us, including missionary friends from Cru and Tim’s parents.
  • We helped organize Taste of the World at our church before heading to Scotland for Revive 2024.
  • In Scotland, we served in Hawick, Dumfries, and beyond—seeing churches unite to reach the lost and witnessing over 50 people respond to the Gospel despite challenges.
  • Ezekiel celebrated his birthday in Scotland, and we explored Tim’s ancestral roots in Wigtownshire.

July – August

  • Our time in Scotland and England strengthened our faith. Homesickness turned into purpose as we realized the significance of even the smallest role in God’s grand plan.
  • We partnered with U.S. teams in Penrith and Morpeth, England.
  • Before returning home, we stopped in Ireland, praying for unity at the Republic-Northern Ireland border and visiting a Moravian church.

September – December

  • Back in Texas, we reconnected with our lifegroup and served at our church’s Family Camp, where we all volunteered as a family, serving and being filled.
  • Caleb celebrated his 15th birthday at camp, too.
  • I painted a mural for a local coffee shop, with Gwen assisting. Gwen also received her first art commission for a Baylor coach.
  • Gwen and I traveled to New York to celebrate her 18th birthday. The celebration became even more special when my mother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and her girl cousins surprised her, joining us in exploring the city that never sleeps.
  • Our Thanksgiving was spent on the road, visiting family in Florida and stopping in small towns along the way.
  • December was a quieter season of rest, filled with meaningful gatherings and Advent reflections as we prepared for 2025.

2025

January – March 2025

  • Gwen and Caleb both attended Winter Camp—Gwen’s final one alongside her brother, making it a special memory for them both.
  • Tim and I traveled with the Revive Ministries team to Alabama, Tennessee, and parts of Texas to connect with U.S. church partners and share what God is doing through Revive.
  • We are in a season of prayer, seeking God’s direction for the next steps He is calling us into as a family and in ministry.

Looking Ahead: Prepare for Harvest

Our word for this year is Prepare(d) for Harvest—a reminder that God is calling us to deeper surrender, readiness, and faith as we step into new assignments.

Please keep our family in your prayers as we prepare for our summer mission. Pray for wisdom, unity, and open hearts for those we will encounter. We also pray for you—that you would experience fresh encounters with God, be strengthened in love, and be emboldened in your calling.

With love and gratitude,
The Carrolls
